    Hanfu - help needed!

    I've decided to try making a Korean Hanbok style outfit for now ^__^ It looks a lot more simple that the Hanfu, or at least the one I want to try and make!!

    Does anyone know how to make a Hanfu style Chinese costume?

    I've searched the internet and found plenty of images of ancient and modern completed articles, but can't find anything that will help me try to make one for one of my dolls!! There are so many variations too, but I really want to go with the ancient version (anyone who has seen Saiunkoku Monogatari should know what I mean).

    I really just need some basic illustrated details, maybe just the layout of the clothing, rather than seeing it on people or in paintings/pictures.
    Unlike kimonos, there is very little information available about them!!

    Been wanting to make this on account of swordfighting flicks but couldn't get the hem long enough and ended up with the Chinese new year series. Seems similiar enough to Kimono though

    Its not so far off from a kimono really...seeing as the kimono was borrowed from hanfu anyway!

    Basically you need to shorten the kimono and have the bottom hem curved. its a skirt under it that makes it look so long. modify sleeves slightly. presto :D

    Ah! I love reading the manga of that series! haha Sadly, I have no idea how to make that. It does looks somewhat how you would make a kimono though.. I really can't wait till you make it! I think it's really beautiful. ^^

    Just looking at pictures made the front look like it was made the same way as a kataginu!! There are an awful lot of variations and most of them have reasonable illustrations and details, except the one I want to make!! If I can't find something, I'll have to go with one of the variations ^__^
